Agents of change

According to UNICEF, in Colombia, the population between 5 and 7 years about 12% do not attend school.

Through the Godparent program you get to provide for the child’s basic needs,  thereby helping to reduce the alarming rates of failure to attend school.

With your contribution the child will receive education, uniforms, textbooks, food, recreation and sport.

The Godfather economically protects a child, but more importantly, will connect with the child in a loving relationship, monitoring the child’s growth and development and seeing his/her quality of life improve. When you join this program, you will receive a picture of the child as well as a letter with his/her life story.

Inspired to change two lives: yours and that of a child who really needs your help.

Shakira visited the Pies Descalzos schools in Quibdó and Barranquilla accompanied by businessman and philanthropist Howard Buffett.  They were able to spend time with the children in the Corregimiento La Playa area in Barranquilla.  “I could see the school was much further along and the construction was just as I had dreamed of all my life,” Shakira commented on the construction of the Pies Descalzos School in her native city.
